The Concept
One kimono | One piece
Monsieur Iñaki transforms vintage kimono into one-of-a-kind collectible fashion. Guided by founder George Inaki's philosophy: “Mended, Not Broken,” the brand draws inspiration from Kintsugi, the Japanese art of honoring an object's history while giving it new life. Monsieur Iñaki applies this philosophy to forgotten kimono, preserving their craftsmanship through transformation. Inspired by the glamour, sensuality, and visual culture of 1970s and 1980s Japan.

Who is
Monsieur Iñaki ?
Monsieur Iñaki is the creative world of George Inaki, guided by one philosophy: Mended, Not Broken. Inspired by Kintsugi, his work honors imperfection, preserves history, and gives new life to what already exists.
George founded MILAMORE Fine Jewelry in 2019 and began developing Monsieur Iñaki in 2024, expanding his practice from jewelry to rare vintage kimono transformed in Japan. A 2026 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist for MILAMORE, George connects both brands through timeless design and Japanese craftsmanship.

Why aloha shirts?
A return to those roots.
The aloha shirt traces back to Hawai‘i in the 1930s, when Japanese immigrants began transforming old kimono fabric into casual shirts — a way to carry a piece of home while living far away.
Monsieur Iñaki is a return to those roots. We upcycle vintage silk kimono into one of a kind resort shirts, honoring Japanese craftsmanship and the spirit of la dolce vita.
From kimono to shirt, past to present, tradition to reinvention.
And honestly… we just really love aloha shirts.
